Key Responsibilities:

- **Sterilization of Equipment**:

- Properly sterilize surgical instruments, medical equipment, and tools using autoclaves, sterilizers, and other advanced sterilization methods.
- Follow guidelines for sterilization processes (e.g., temperature, pressure, duration) to ensure effectiveness.
- **Cleaning and Disinfection**:

- Thoroughly clean and disinfect instruments before sterilization, ensuring they are free of contaminants, dirt, and debris.
- Handle both reusable and disposable medical items according to safety protocols.
- **Packaging and Storing**:

- Package sterilized instruments and equipment in sterilization pouches or wraps to maintain sterility until they are used.
- Properly label and store sterilized items in designated areas to ensure easy retrieval and proper inventory control.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Monitor the inventory of sterilized and unsterilized items.
- Report the need for replenishment of sterile supplies or consumables to the department head.
- Ensure that all sterilization cycles are documented accurately and stored for record-keeping.
- **Quality Control and Compliance**:

- Regularly inspect sterilization equipment and the environment for cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines, such as those from the CDC, WHO, or other relevant authorities.
- Participate in audits, safety checks, and routine maintenance to verify equipment is functioning correctly.
- **Safety and Infection Control**:

- Follow safety protocols to avoid contamination and cross-contamination, using gloves, masks, and other protective gear.
- Adhere to infection control standards to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
- **Team Collaboration and Training**:

- Collaborate with surgical teams, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of sterilized instruments for surgeries and procedures.
- Assist in the training of new CSSD staff members on sterilization and infection control practices.
- **Record-Keeping and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment used, and any incidents or deviations from standard procedures.
- Report any issues or malfunctions with sterilizing equipment to the supervisor.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
