Couchbase is looking for a hands-on, data-oriented Compensation Partner to support our Product, Engineering and G&A functions. You will Create Value and your impact will Be Valued. You will own compensation initiatives broadly, along with another Compensation Partner, reporting to a Senior Director of Total Rewards. You will also take specific ownership of your designated functional areas, working closely with the HR Business Partners and leaders for those areas. You will directly impact the future of the “world-class team” who work at Couchbase and solidify Couchbase's reputation as an "employer of choice." This position is in-office preferred (~3 days a week) with global travel as required. **Responsibilities** - Implement our rewards philosophy and principles in compensation-related decisions and processes - Be data driven and stand for objectivity based on compensation data - Contribute to the development of compensation bands based on market data for your allocated business area - Act as a consultant on base salary, bonus, and equity programs to org leaders and HRBPs - Execute our compensation cycles at mid-year and end-of-year, in conjunction with your Compensation Partner colleague and the Senior Director of Total Rewards - Generate some quick wins, such as streamlining of compensation data sources for us in resource planning - Monitor, interpret and implement relevant changes related to government regulations/legislation - Partner with HR Business Partners, Recruiters, Sales Compensation /Operations, Managers, and the Executive team on compensation matters - Become a trusted advisor to Couchbase leadership, Finance and the People team as a compensation expert - Understand our employees’ needs with regards to compensation, what feedback they have and how we can optimize for that - Design, develop and deliver educational material on compensation to build employee understanding of the value being offered to them **Skills & Abilities** - You have 5+ years experience in compensation - Have experience and an understanding of budgeting - Demonstrated robust understanding of compensation practices and market conditions across numerous countries and regions - A strong understanding of compensation best practices, current compensation trends, and market benchmark data - Proven analytical skills, keen eye for detail, and have truly in-depth knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets including building and maintaining complex models - Experience communicating effectively across teams, including translating quantitative insights to non-quantitative audiences - Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion - Experience in UKG preferred - Bachelor's degree and compensation certification preferred (e.g. CCP, GRP) **Why Couchbase?** - Generous Time Off Program - Flexibility to care for you and your family - Wellness Benefits - A variety of world class medical plans to choose from, along with dental, vision, life insurance, and employee assistance programs* - Financial Planning - RSU equity program*, ESPP program*, Retirement program* and Business Travel Insurance - Career Growth - Be valued, Create value approach - Fun Perks - A Monthly Lifestyle Spending Account credit, an ergonomic and comfortable in-office / WFH setup.
