1) Must at all times be completely familiar with the General Rules and any other procedures, rules, policies and standards that relate to the safe and efficient stations operation.

2)Takes operational instruction from Chief OCC or Mainline Controller.

3) Manage all aspects of the day to day operations of the Station.

4) Monitor the flow of traffic and assisting passengers if required to and from the train.

5) Ensures that relevant operational information is disseminated to passengers in station in a timely manner.

6) Respond to customers in a timely and courteous manner when contacted via the Help Points or when approached in person.

7)Ensures that all reports are sent daily within the required time frame to the Operations Manager via the Station Supervisor.

8) Opens and closes the station in accordance with procedures.

9) Checks the attendance, directs and manages all station staff.
- Ensures that the passengers are able to move quickly through the concourse areas including platforms, staircases, and escalators by monitoring the flow of traffic and assisting passengers if required.

10) Be completely familiar with the GR, Conditions of RST, Operational regulations and any other procedures, rules, policies and standards that relate to the efficient operation of the station and network.

11)In an emergency, the incident station’s Station Master will assume the role of the OIC.

12)Manages the station defect reporting process using the Material Management System and advising the appropriate technical department of defects and repairs required.

13)Monitors the arrival and departure of trains and paid/unpaid areas via the CCTV.

14)Ensures that operational information is disseminated to station personnel in a timely manner.

15)Ensures that consumables and first aid equipment at the stations are kept in a state of readiness.

16) Responds to customer complaints in a timely manner.

17)Manages the contract staff at stations including cleaning and security personnel.

18)Exercise their discretion, good judgment and initiative in dealing with unforeseen circumstances and in situations that are not covered by company rules and procedures.
- 19) Supervise the working of TOM’s, AG’s and TVM’s
