Position Overview:
As a Commis 1, you will play a crucial role in our culinary team, contributing to the preparation and production of high-quality dishes. Working closely with our kitchen brigade, you will assist in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring they are executed with precision and in accordance with established recipes and guidelines.
Ingredient Handling: Handle, store, and prepare ingredients, ensuring freshness, quality, and proper hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
Kitchen Operations: Contribute to mise en place, stock rotation, and kitchen organization to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient service during peak hours.
Plate Presentation: Assist in creating visually appealing and well-presented dishes that adhere to the restaurant's plating standards.
Quality Control: Participate in quality control procedures, taste tests, and checks to maintain consistent taste, texture, and appearance of dishes.
Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team, including chefs, sous chefs, and fellow commis, to support a collaborative and productive kitchen environment.
Cleanliness and Safety: Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and organized workspace and following proper handling procedures.
Learning and Development: Proactively seek opportunities to learn and enhance your culinary skills, staying updated with industry trends and new cooking techniques.
Adaptability: Flexibly handle changes in menu, recipes, and kitchen priorities while maintaining a positive attitude and composure.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Culinary education or relevant cooking certification is preferred.
Previous experience as a Commis 1 or similar role in a restaurant or culinary establishment is advantageous.
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Familiarity with different cooking methods and techniques.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Lift and carry heavy pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
Work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.
**Salary**: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
