**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Deputy Nursing Superintendent is responsible for the following works of Nursing Department inco-ordination with Joint Nursing Superintendent.**

Supervise the nursing care given to the patients in various departments by taking regular round of the hospital.
- Act as a liaison officer between Nursing Superintendent, Joint Nursing Superintendent and the Nursing staff of the hospital.
- Supervise all the documents are maintained correctly.
- Make rounds by the patient’s bed side.
- Supervise the services by the staff nurse both in quality and time
- Identify, evaluate & implement strategies for optimizing patient care in relevant environment based on clinical practice
- Plan materials requirement for the nursing department
- Prepare daily report to the Joint nursing superintendent - regarding departmental problems, critically ill patient, Incidents & Accidents etc.
- Co-ordinates with the respective Ward Supervisor regarding the problem solving.
- Assist in Implementation& evaluation of clinical programmers for nurses like - bedside training, class room training, nurse, medical documentation training, infection control practices & training log book to be maintained for each nurse.
- Supervise & train on personality development include communication, personal hygiene, etiquettes.
- Participates in quality improvement activities for accreditation process
- Participate in departmental meetings and dissemination of appropriate information.
- Assist the Joint Nursing Superintendent in making master duty roster of nursing personnel.
- Assist in planning/ organizing and implementing staff development programmes.
- Ensure clinical experience facilities for student nurses in various clinical areas of the hospital.
- Provides guidance and counseling to nursing staff.
- Arrange orientation programmes for new nursing staff.
- Escorts special visitors for hospital rounds.
- Arrange and participates in professional and social functions of the staff and students and hospital.
- **Self-Care**:Take all necessary precautions to prevent transmission of infection either from patient or vice versa.
- **Team-work**:perform all duties as a member of the RMH team whose goal is to deliver quality health-care at affordable cost; follow hospital discipline and protocols; maintain equipment, comply with orders/instruction of reporting heads.
- **General**:Discharge such other allied, ancillary, related, emergency or incidental work inherently related to the nursing profession and those that may be entrusted to you by the Hospital
- **Dress Code**: Follow dress code as per policy of the hospital.
- **Emergency Duties**: undertake work assigned by the Hospital during emergencies, at any time, either within the premises of the Hospital or anywhere else, depending upon the exigencies of the situation.

**Salary**: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
