**Job description - Assistant Professor in Malayalam**

The Malayalam Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Malayalam language and literature to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students. The role involves developing curriculum, conducting research, guiding students, and participating in departmental activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Teaching and Instruction**:

- Develop and update curriculum and course materials to meet academic standards and the needs of students.
- Utilize various teaching methods and strategies to engage students and facilitate active learning.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and other assessment tools.
- **Research and Scholarly Activities**:

- Conduct original research in the field of Malayalam language and literature.
- Publish research findings in academic journals, books, or other relevant platforms.
- Attend and present at academic conferences, workshops, and seminars.
- **Student Mentorship and Support**:

- Provide academic advising and mentoring to students, helping them with their studies and career planning.
- Supervise student projects, dissertations, and research work.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other administrative activities as required.
- Contribute to the development of departmental policies and initiatives.
- **Community and Outreach**:

- Engage in community outreach activities to promote the Malayalam language and culture.
- Organize and participate in cultural events, workshops, and seminars related to Malayalam studies.
- **Continuous Professional Development**:

- Stay updated with developments in the field of Malayalam studies and incorporate new knowledge into teaching practices.
- Participate in professional development activities, such as workshops and training sessions.
