Job Title: Purchase Department Manager Company: Lumens India; Location: Kolkata, Bantala, Leather Complex; Department: Purchase
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company's objectives and cost-saving goals.
- Identify cost-effective sources of supply while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to stay updated on the latest materials and pricing trends.
2. Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate supplier agreements, contracts, and terms to secure favorable conditions for the company.
- Continuously assess supplier performance and address any issues or non-compliance promptly.
3. Inventory Management:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing carrying costs.
- Implement inventory control systems and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Work closely with production and finance teams to forecast material requirements.
4. Cost Control:
- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and financial objectives.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased materials meet specified quality standards.
- Implement quality assurance processes to mitigate the risk of substandard materials entering the production process.
6. Compliance:
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations related to procurement and supply chain activities.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
7. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing purchase department team.
- Set clear goals and expectations for team members and conduct performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related role within the manufacturing industry, with at least [X] years in a managerial capacity.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software.
- In-depth knowledge of leather and related materials is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
