**Key Responsibilities**:

- Efficiently manage and process medical billing and coding tasks using Athena Health, ensuring all claims are submitted accurately and promptly.
- Perform patient billing processes, including verifying patient insurance coverage, processing patient statements, and managing collections.
- Resolve billing and insurance discrepancies, working closely with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to clarify and rectify issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, payer regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to all relevant health insurance policies and legislation.
- Conduct regular audits of billing activities to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies, ensuring the integrity of billing data.
- Provide detailed reports and analyses on billing activities, highlighting trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Offer exceptional customer service, addressing patient and insurance inquiries related to billing with professionalism and empathy.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to optimize billing processes and enhance overall efficiency.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Medical Biller, with specific expertise in using Athena Health's billing and EHR systems.
- Strong understanding of medical billing processes, insurance guidelines, coding (ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes), and healthcare compliance regulations (HIPAA, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to audit work for errors and inconsistencies.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex billing information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Professional Biller (CPB) by the AAPC, Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) by the AMBA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently in a virtual setting, demonstrating self-discipline and time management skills.
