Financial Controller

**Overview**
- This is a financial accounting role reporting to the CFO, R&SS division. Reporting directly to the Divisional CFO and Head of Financial Control R&SS Australia, this role will have a crucial part to play in the success of the R&SS business and delivery of a world class finance function as part of global finance function. Link Group is a fast paced, and evolving business and your ability to drive change as part of the finance leadership team will be important.- The role will also be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial accounting teams.**Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities**
- Strategic Focus
- Own and develop the financial control framework across the Division.
- Own the financial system development and maintenance across the Division.
- Support acquisitions, investment opportunities and develop integration plans.
- Develop and grow the financial control team.
- Operational Management
- Oversee processes spanning Australia, HK, UK and India teams for Retirement & Superannuation Solutions, ensuring consistency and accuracy of data across the regional reporting process.
- Coordinate & monitor the reporting timelines across the finance team delivering a streamlined month end close process.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of divisional, entity and consolidated group financial reporting.
- Own the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
- Collaborate with internal audit and compliance monitoring services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Ownership of producing a full set of year-end statutory accounts (for entities requiring separate statutory accounts) including all relevant audit and tax schedules, ensuring the audit is satisfactorily completed.
- Managing the audit process and implementing recommendations from internal and external audits
- Responsibility for accurate completion and timely submission of Retirement & Superannuation Solutions financial regulatory returns and that the relevant companies always maintain surplus capital adequacy.
- Ensure the company balance sheets, open debtor and creditor positions are reviewed regularly and working capital and cash collection remains robust and any issues are appropriately addressed.
- Lead the implementation of new accounting standards, new accounting transactions, and new internal and external reporting requirements for the Division.
- Work closely with the Group Tax Team on compliance reporting requirements (such as quarterly tax reconciliations and reviews, annual corporate income tax returns and monthly filing of VAT submissions)
- Understand cross-borders tax implications and manage transfer pricing for the region.

- Successfully lead teams in India through a regular cadence of communication and collaboration.
- Develop, lead, and maintain a high-performing, motivated team, which will include development, coaching, talent management and succession planning.

- Ensure full adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and the good conduct of the businesses, maintaining ongoing compliance and upholding the reputation of Link Group

**Experience & Personal Attributes**
- Experience
- 10+ years’ experience working as a Financial Controller
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- A successful track record in design, delivery and improvement of financial processes, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and control.
- Demonstrable experience in process re-engineering, program management and technology implementation will also be important.
- Experience working in a large multi-currency global organization and comfortable in managing complex intercompany transactions.
- Strong accounting software user and administration skills.
- Experience managing the Audit partnership.
- Previous experience mentoring and managing international team members.
