JOB DESCRIPTION - Experience of 5-6 years as Sourcing engineer in a component / material organization. - Experience in the identifying "Obsolete" and "End of Life" components and find their replacement/Alternate versions. - Experience in contacting and collecting data/information of required part from manufacturer or vendors through communication and from website. - Identifying low cost Functional alternate and reduce BOM cost. - Interacting with Product Managers, Design Engineers & Product Engineers during design review - Interacting with Manufacturers and Distributors to get components internal data. - Review Functional Specification (FS) and/or Cross Functional Specification (XFS) for all the components. - Perform various tests, evaluate all components and assemblies, and analyze all failures for it. - Advanced knowledge and understanding of contract manufacturing in the electronic industry - Sourcing all types of electronic parts that include: PCBA, and all components included in the Bill of material of the PCBA's, as well as but not limited to, power supplies, cables, and complex electro/mechanical assemblies. Experience in working with vendors for new design and development activities- KEY SHARED ACCOUNTABILITIES: Vendors: Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels with different vendors. Business Team: Work Closely with quality, accounts, stores, after sales and production team to understand the needs and deliver by maintaining harmonious relationship.
