Requirement for a Staff Nurse

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in nursing or related field
- Current nursing license by regulatory board in the country of employment would be preferred
- A minimum of 1-3 Years of experience is required.
- Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
- Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
- Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings
- Update students’ medical history
- Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
- Ensure compliance with national and local health laws
- Consult with parents, teachers, and school administrators regarding student care
- Promote an optimal level of wellness among students and staff
- Administer medication, take temperatures, bandage wounds, and carry out other healthcare procedures
- Plan and implement school health management protocols and procedures, for both routine and emergency situations
- Teach students healthy habits and lifelong skills, like the importance of handwashing
**Required Skills**:
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Passion for working with students
- Knowledge of national and local health regulations
- Ability to think critically under pressure
