CNC Router Machine Operator Job Description

Position: CNC Router Machine Operator

Reports to: Production Supervisor / Manager

Department: Manufacturing / Production

Location: Shivane (WarjeMalwadi), Pune

Job Summary:
The CNC Router Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of CNC router machines to cut, shape, and finish a wide range of materials including wood, metal, plastics, and composites. The operator follows technical drawings and design specifications to produce parts and components, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setup and Operation:

- Set up CNC router machines according to job specifications, including tooling, fixturing, and calibration.
- Preferred knowledge of Coral Draw Software
- Load materials onto the CNC router, ensuring they are securely positioned and aligned.
- Operate the machine to perform cutting, drilling, and shaping operations based on the programmed CNC instructions.

2. Programming and Adjustment:

- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CNC programs (G-code or similar) to determine machining instructions.
- Make adjustments to machine settings, tooling, and program parameters to optimize production and ensure accuracy.
- Perform basic programming and editing of CNC machine code if necessary.

3. Quality Control:

- Inspect finished products for conformance to design specifications using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Identify and resolve issues related to machine operation, material defects, or product quality.
- Maintain a high level of quality control throughout the production process, documenting quality checks and measurements as required.

4. Maintenance and Safety:

- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC router machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risk.
- Monitor the working environment to ensure safety and efficiency, reporting any hazards or malfunctions to supervisors.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of production data, including machine settings, run times, and materials used.
- Complete production logs and report discrepancies or issues to the production supervisor.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production delays or technical issues.

6. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to improve machining processes and product quality.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve machine operation efficiency.
- Provide feedback on equipment, tooling, and workflow improvements to management.

Qualifications:

- 12th Pass or High school diploma or equivalent course.
- Technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining or manufacturing (preferred).
- Minimum 0 to 2 years of experience operating CNC router machines or similar CNC equipment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and CNC programs.
- Experience with CNC software, such as Coral Draw Software, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of materials used in CNC machining (wood, metal, plastics, etc.).
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

- Physical work environment requiring extended periods of standing, lifting, and bending.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and machine oils.
- Shift work may be required depending on production schedules.
- PPE must be worn at all times while operating machinery.
