Role: Proofreader|Content Corrector|Fact Checker (Remote)
- Altamont Group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled individual to join our team as a Proofreader_Content Corrector_Fact Checker. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and quality of written materials produced by Altamont Group. Your primary responsibilities will include proofreading, content correction, and fact-checking to maintain high-quality written communication across all projects.

Deliverables will include:

- Review documents to ensure alignment with TOR/Client requirements
- Proofread/fact check documents ensuring they are 100% client ready
- Correct content as required
- In alignment with Altamont Group’s Style Guide, proofread written content to ensure correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style
- Collaborate with writers to enhance overall quality of content
- Ensure adherence to AG guidelines and maintain a consistent voice across all content
- Identify and correct errors in syntax, formatting, and structure
- Verify facts, references, and sources to ensure accuracy
- Provide constructive feedback to writers for continuous improvement
- Stay updated on western language and style trends to maintain industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
- Support executive team with key documents
- Compare finalized versions against original copy to identify errors or omission
- Ensure that all written materials are accurate and of high quality
- Evaluate the dimensions of page elements such as images, text spacing and positioning to ensure they conform to set specifications
- Ensure formatting is correct including:

- Headers and footers
- Table of contents
- Page numbers are in the right order and not repeated or omitted
- Chapter titles match list of contents
- Standard symbols
- Proper abbreviations
- Approved citation formats
- Rephrase written text to ensure document structure and content are consistent
- Incorporate grammatical updates and new terminologies
- Ensure illustrations are suitably captioned and referenced
- Forward proofread materials for approval
- Ensure project is completed as per deadlines

Required Skills and Experiences:

- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication, or related field.
- Proven experience as a proofreader, content corrector, or in a similar role.
- Fluency in English language with excellent verbal and written skills.
- Expertise in English grammar, syntax, and vocabulary, with a strong grasp of Western English style.
- Familiarity with global style guides (AP, Chicago Manual, etc.).
- Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills with an excellent portfolio
- Knowledge of standard proofreading practices, procedures, and concepts
- Able to identify and rephrase grammatical errors to ensure error-free texts
- Hands on experience with MS Office, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, Adobe, and other publishing tools
- Methodical working style with great attention to detail.
- Ability to concentrate and multitask effectively.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with global style guides.
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage workload efficiently.

- Critical thinking skills and integrity in verifying facts and ensuring accuracy

- Proficient in Western English
