**Job Summary**:
The Assistant Buyer will play a vital role in supporting the Category Buyer in managing the

procurement process for a specific category of products. This position involves assisting in

market research, vendor management, and inventory analysis to ensure the successful

execution of buying strategies that align with business goals.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Category Buyer in selecting and sourcing products that meet quality, cost,

and delivery criteria.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor pricing, and potential new

suppliers within the assigned category.
- Monitor inventory levels and analyze sales data to support replenishment and

markdown strategies.
- Maintain effective relationships with suppliers, facilitating communication regarding

order status and resolving any discrepancies.
- Prepare reports and presentations on purchasing activities, sales performance, and

market trends for the Category Buyer.
- Assist in negotiating pricing and terms with vendors to secure the best deals for the

company.
- Participate in product selection meetings and contribute insights based on market

analysis and customer feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to purchasing and

inventory management.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field preferred.
- **1-2 years of experience in retail buying, merchandising, or a related role is desirable.**
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with

team members and vendors.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple

tasks simultaneously.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
