L2/l3 - Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator (DB-A) at WWS, what you will be responsible for will be the performance, integrity and security of a database. You'll be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. Responsibility also involves ensuring that data remains constant across all databases.

**What We Expect**
- A Computer Science graduate with minimum 2 years of experience as database administrator.
- Familiarity with the main data manipulation languages and the principles of database design.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on AWS and MongoDB environments
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Flexibility in shifts would be a great advantage.
- Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, and VPC
- Proficiency in database management, performance tuning, and optimization techniques specific to MongoDB
- Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies, as well as disaster recovery planning
- Familiarity with NoSQL database concepts, including data modeling, indexing, and replication
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
- AWS and MongoDB certifications are a plus

Design, implement, and maintain AWS-based MongoDB databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, and business analysts, to analyze requirements and recommend database solutions

Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance using advanced tools and techniques, including query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning

Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and minimizing downtime

Manage database security and access controls, including user account management, role management, and auditing

Stay current with the latest trends and developments in AWS and MongoDB technologies, and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes

Provide guidance and support to team members on database-related issues and best practices

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, and develop plans for continuous improvement

**Standardizing Management.** To hone logical design for its translation into a specific data model on further refining the physical design to meet system storage. Enhance the scalability and performance of existing database structures.
