Medical coding interns are responsible for translating medical diagnoses, procedures, and treatments into a standardized code format for reimbursement purposes. They work under the supervision of certified medical coders to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities may include:

- Reviewing patient medical records to extract relevant information for coding purposes.
- Assigning appropriate codes to medical procedures, diagnoses, and treatments using the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding systems.
- Ensuring coding accuracy and compliance with government regulations and insurance requirements.
- Communicating with healthcare providers and staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
- Assisting with coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and industry developments.

Qualifications:

- Enrolled in or completed a medical coding program or related healthcare program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Familiarity with ICD and CPT coding systems.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

This is an entry-level position that provides valuable experience in the healthcare industry. Medical coding interns may work in hospitals, clinics, physician practices, insurance companies, or other healthcare organizations.

**Salary**: ₹9,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
