**Position Overview**:
A Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations by preparing materials, conducting experiments, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment. They assist scientists, researchers, or medical professionals in carrying out tests and experiments.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment for experiments and tests.
- Conduct routine lab tests and experiments under supervision.
- Record and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization, including sterilizing equipment.
- Monitor and restock lab supplies as needed.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free environment.
- Assist in the disposal of hazardous waste according to regulations.
- Support researchers and scientists by providing necessary technical assistance.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
**Education**: bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred.
**Technical Skills**: Familiarity with lab equipment, basic testing procedures, and data entry.
**Attention to Detail**: Ability to follow procedures accurately and record precise data.
**Organizational Skills**: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain lab order.
**Safety Awareness**: Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and chemical handling.
**Communication**: Good written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings.
**Work Environment**:
- May work in medical, research, or industrial laboratories.
- Requires wearing protective gear (gloves, lab coats, safety glasses).
- Work involves standing for long periods and handling chemicals or biological samples.
