**Job Description**:
**Job Title: Facility Security Officer**

**Travel Percentage**:
5 - 10%

**What you will be doing**:

- Ensuring the safety and security of the facility and its employees
- Maintaining physical security through the use of automated systems and employee identification cards
- Monitoring and reacting to security and life safety alarms, dispatching security officers when necessary
- Monitoring activity on the premises to ensure employee safety
- Controlling access to buildings and grounds
- Operating surveillance and security systems, providing access to records for law enforcement
- Creating and managing employee access systems, such as ID badges and keycards
- Addressing parking violations and fire and safety hazards observed through surveillance equipment
- Keeping informed about weather conditions to secure the campus in case of emergencies
- Maintaining facility security records and managing lost and found items
- Responding to general service calls, including assisting staff and providing escorts
- Supporting the education of employees on safety and security policies
- Coordinating with outside agencies for criminal activity investigations
- Supporting investigations by organizing and providing surveillance footage and records
- Performing other related duties as assigned

**What you will bring**:

- Proficiency in obtaining and maintaining security systems certification
- Knowledge of security systems and operating procedures
- Understanding of radio communication techniques and terminology
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Professional and trustworthy demeanor
- Ability to react quickly in sensitive situations
- Capacity to obtain information from individuals under stress or during emergencies

**Education Requirements**:
High school diploma or GED
