**Job Title**: ICU Nursing Staff

**Department**: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
**Location**: Royal Pearl Hospital, Trichy
**Reports To**: ICU In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent / Chief Medical Officer

**Job Summary**:
The ICU Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. The role demands close monitoring, timely interventions, accurate documentation, and coordination with doctors and healthcare teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Patient Monitoring & Care**:

- Monitor and assess vital signs, consciousness levels, and overall condition of patients.
- Operate and manage ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors, and other critical care equipment.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as per doctor’s instructions.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and notify physicians accordingly.
- **Emergency Response**:

- Assist in resuscitation, code blue situations, and emergency procedures.
- Provide CPR and life-saving interventions when required.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, medication records, and nursing notes.
- Prepare and update ICU charts and hand over reports during shift changes.
- **Infection Control & Hygiene**:

- Follow strict infection control protocols, sterilization practices, and maintain ICU hygiene standards.
- Use PPE and follow isolation protocols where applicable.
- **Communication & Team Coordination**:

- Communicate effectively with doctors, patient families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in ICU rounds and case discussions.
- Educate patient families about ongoing care and prognosis with guidance from physicians.
- **Patient Safety & Ethics**:

- Ensure patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality are respected.
- Adhere to ethical nursing practices and hospital guidelines.
- **Other Duties**:

- Assist with transferring patients in/out of ICU.
- Ensure readiness of ICU equipment and crash cart.
- Participate in continuous training, mock drills, and skill enhancement programs.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
- **Registration**: Registered with State Nursing Council (mandatory)
- **Experience**: Minimum 1-2 years of ICU or critical care experience preferred
- **Skills**:

- Clinical judgment and critical thinking
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Familiarity with ICU protocols and equipment
- Compassionate and patient-centered care attitude

**Working Hours**:

- Rotational Shifts (Morning, Evening, Night)
- On-call duty as required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹38,728.42 per month
