Skills Requirements

Mandatory Skillset - Upgrade SQL Servers; Migrate SQL Servers from On-premises to Cloud (AWS); Assessment & Performance Tuning

**Requirements**:

- Document current database configurations, schemas, and operational parameters.
- Profile/Validate Current Databases and DDLs:

- Review and validate current database designs, data definitions, and usage patterns.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Usage Data Analysis:

- Analyse usage patterns to understand database load and performance characteristics.
- Identify key metrics for monitoring and reporting.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of MySQL databases.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for indexing, query optimization, and configuration adjustments.
- Prioritize Database Optimization Opportunities:

- Develop a prioritisation plan for database optimization tasks, considering both pre-migration and post-migration phases.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement optimizations.
- Work closely with architects to develop a comprehensive migration strategy to AWS MySQL.
- Create detailed migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Perform database upgrades and migrations from on-premises environments to AWS.
- Ensure mínimal downtime and data loss during the migration process.
- Validate data integrity and performance post-migration.
