**Job Title: Physician Assistant - Nephrology**

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical exams on nephrology patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic kidney diseases, including hypertension, electrolyte imbalances, and fluid disorders.
- Monitor and manage dialysis patients (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis) in coordination with nephrologists and dialysis teams.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests relevant to kidney health.
- Prescribe medications and manage therapeutic regimens under physician supervision.
- Provide patient education on kidney disease management, dialysis modalities, transplant preparation, and lifestyle modifications.
- Assist in the evaluation and preparation of patients for kidney transplantation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research if applicable.
- Document all encounters thoroughly and in a timely manner in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and social workers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current PA-C certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Licensed (or eligible) as a Physician Assistant in the state of [Insert State].
- Current BLS/ACLS certification.
- Prior experience in nephrology or internal medicine preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical judgment, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- EMR proficiency (Epic experience a plus).

**Working Conditions**:

- Hospital, outpatient clinic, and dialysis unit settings.
- Occasional on-call responsibilities and weekend coverage may be required.
