The Polymath School is Mumbai's first K-12 Project-Based-Learning School.

In projects that typically last 3-4 months, we integrate rich content, 21st-century skills and human values in the context of a real-life problem or a challenge. The interdisciplinary nature of projects, along with the real-life context, makes learning come alive for students and educators
(Examples - Organic Farming Project, "Building a Frog Habitat").

Even though we are a school, we try to maintain a start-up culture. The reason for that is simple - if we want our students to develop life-skills like critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, etc., we, the facilitators (teachers), need to live it ourselves.

**Teachers as Scholars**
The notion of teachers working as scholars is alien to most schools. Very few school managements understand the power of scholarship in improving teaching practices, and therefore it is seldom encouraged.

In our school, the teachers will work as scholars - researching their own practice by reflecting on, documenting and presenting their work, observing the work of others, and comparing best practices. There will be regular teacher-conclaves where teachers from different schools share their successes and struggles. Just as with students, when teachers have to make their work public, they are driven to put in unusual effort and thoughtfulness in their practice.

As a pre-primary coordinator, you would be responsible for the following areas.

**Organization Culture**
- Creating a culture of excellence, wonder, compassion, perseverance and ownership
- Creating a safe environment for students, educators and parents

**Academics**
- Ensuring implementation of PBL through the ‘Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum’ across all preschool classrooms
- Integrating PBL into the CBSE Curriculum, for seamless transition from preschool to grade 1
- Designing for Assessments to evaluate all-round growth of the students, including and not limited to Celebrations of Learning (COLs)
- Overseeing the implementation of “Skills Block” (reading fluency) curriculum in K-2 classrooms
- Overseeing the implementation of “Literacy Read Alouds” in K-2 classrooms
- Implementing a robust Wooden Block Play program in school
- Classroom observations, feedback & support to teachers
- Leading Professional Development Sessions as per needs of the team
- Year Planning, School Calendar, Time Table for Preschool
- Co-teaching any 1 grade as per the need of the hour

**Parent Engagement**
- Leading PTAs & PTMs
- Monthly Newsletter to Parents
- Conducting Parent Surveys
- Responding to Parent Queries & Grievances

Additionally, you will also be supporting the team in the following areas.

**Recruitment**
- Creating JDs for open positions
- Participating in Campus placements (TFI, APU, TISS, IAAT etc)

**Marketing, Branding & Admissions**
- Networking with other Educationists and Experts in the industry
- Presenting the school at Educational Conferences & Community Gatherings

**Skills and Qualifications**

A Prior Experience of 3 years in leading a team of pre-primary educators is required.

Leading a truly progressive school is very rewarding and at the same time, very challenging - it is almost a 24/7 job.

**Salary Range**
Annual CTC Range - 6 to 7.2 LPA
