**Key Responsibilities/Duties**:

- Able to work as a lead engineer on two or more projects
- Provides in-depth knowledge and leadership across the piping design group
- Gives clients confidence in own skills and knowledge by backing up suggestions with client-focused rationale
- Challenges clients’ ideas if a more effective solution could be used
- Actively participates in brainstorming technical workshops with clients
- Prepares equipment layouts for process plants, utility sections, and tank farms
- Leads and manages a team of piping engineers, 3D modellers, and CAD technicians
- Develops, maintains, and monitors the program for the piping design group with respect to staff planning and manning schedule
- Delivers quality 3D/2D deliverables for all projects through the team members
- Encourages, develops, and trains team members to produce creative and innovative solutions to problems
- Targets productivity enhancement and optimum use of staff
- Identifies and clarifies client priorities and monitors outputs of teams to ensure client requirements are met across own range of projects
- Reacts speedily and positively to changes in client requirements, highlighting changes to project teams
- Works closely with team leaders for effective project delivery and quality deliverables
- Ensures that "lessons learned" are fully understood
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of statutory, technical, and environmental considerations and ensures technical solutions meet those obligations and client needs
- Guides the designers in the preparation of nozzle orientation for critical equipment
- Reviews the stress study results and shares the relevant details with the civil team
- Reviews the alignment with other disciplines
- Performs internal and external stakeholder management and interdepartmental coordination
- Ensures readiness for 3D model reviews and arranges all prerequisites
- Ensures 3D model clash runs are executed at regular intervals and proper resolution with all stakeholders
- Carries out technical requisitions, vendor offer reviews, technical bid evaluations, and vendor drawing reviews
- Preparation of equipment layouts, piping layouts for process plant buildings, utility areas, pipe racks, tank farms, etc
- Knowledge of piping-related codes and standards such as ASME, API, etc
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and conversant with Navisworks, MS Office
- Knowledge in material specifications
- Familiarity with software on piping design and piping 3D - Autodesk, Bentley platforms, etc
- Work in close coordination with other engineering disciplines
- Preparation of FEED, basic and detailed engineering packages, and cost estimation activities
- Ability to plan work for team and prepare schedules
- Perform internal and external stakeholder management, interdepartmental coordination
- Knowledge of thermal stress analysis is an added advantage
- Good communication skills
