Key Responsibilities:

- **Room Cleaning and Maintenance**:

- Clean and prepare guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and organizing items.
- Replace and restock room amenities like toiletries, towels, and linens.
- Check and report any maintenance issues (e.g., broken lights, plumbing issues) to the maintenance team.
- Ensure that all rooms are sanitized and meet cleanliness standards set by the hotel.
- **Public Area Cleaning**:

- Clean and maintain public areas, including lobbies, corridors, elevators, and restrooms.
- Keep hallways and staircases free of debris and well-organized.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and decorative items in common areas.
- **Laundry and Linen Management**:

- Collect used linens and towels from rooms and common areas.
- Ensure timely delivery of fresh linens and towels to the rooms.
- Assist in sorting, washing, drying, and folding laundry as needed.
- **Guest Assistance**:

- Respond promptly to guest requests for extra amenities, such as towels, pillows, or other items.
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a polite and helpful attitude when interacting with guests.
- **Adherence to Health and Safety Standards**:

- Follow proper cleaning procedures, including using and storing cleaning chemicals safely.
- Wear protective gear as required and follow the hotel’s hygiene protocols.
- Ensure that all cleaning activities are conducted to meet health and safety standards.
- **Inventory and Supply Management**:

- Monitor and report inventory levels of cleaning supplies and amenities to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Help to keep storage areas organized and stocked.

Required Skills and Qualities:

- **Attention to Detail**: Ability to notice and address small details to ensure thorough cleanliness.
- **Time Management**: Efficiently manage time to clean multiple rooms and areas as per schedule.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods.
- **Customer Service Skills**: Maintain a polite and respectful manner in all interactions with guests.
- **Teamwork**: Work collaboratively with other housekeeping staff and hotel departments.

Typical Qualifications:

- Previous housekeeping experience is often preferred but not always required.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Training in safety and hygiene standards may be provided by the hotel.

A housekeeping assistant role is essential to maintaining a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests, which ultimately contributes to the hotel's reputation and success.
