We are happy to let you know that IRBMS is offering internship opportunities for students interested in Field Study under our community-based Watershed Management initiatives.IRBMS is a non-profit organisation dedicated to sustainable watershed management, biodiversity conservation, and empowering local communities through participatory approaches. Our internship program is tailored for students pursuing studies in social sciences, environmental studies, rural development, or natural resource management, who are passionate about making a real impact on environmental and social outcomes.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Assist in data extraction and collection for geophysical studies, like resistivity surveys.
2. Participate in field work activities such as surveying, monitoring, and sampling
3. Work on effective communication with local tribal communities and stakeholders
4. Contribute to report writing and documentation of project findings
5. Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for sustainable resource management
6. Conducting field visits and collecting data to gather relevant information.
7. Assisting in community mobilization efforts to engage and involve local stakeholders.
8. Preparing reports based on collected data and community feedback.
9. Participate in real-world conservation projects involving groundwater monitoring, biodiversity assessment, and community engagement.
10. Gain exposure to integrated approaches to environmental governance, traditional ecological knowledge, and stakeholder collaboration.
Note:
1. Rural areas of Jharkhand, Orissa and Chhattisgarh.
2. Mentorship will be provided and guided by experienced field officers and researchers.

1. Background in geography, geoscience, environmental science, social study and rural development (preferred).
3. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to engage with diverse communities.
4. Keen observation and analytical abilities.
5. Proficiency in MS Office tools (preferred).
6. Commitment to social service, especially for marginalized communities.

**About Integrated River Basin Management Society**
IRBMS is working in the field of 'River Basin Management', 'Watershed Management', soil & water conservation, and livelihood generation. IRBMS is associated with some watershed management projects in the tribal areas of West Bengal and Jharkhand. IRBMS professionals provide technical support to the grassroots NGOs for sustainable watershed development. The support includes the creation of a digital model of the watershed to field-level water conservation structure design.
