**Job Summary**:
The Tax Assessments and Appeals Assistant will provide crucial support to the tax team in managing and resolving tax assessment matters and handling appeal processes. This role requires a strong understanding of tax procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with both clients and tax authorities. The Assistant will be involved in gathering information, preparing documentation, and assisting senior consultants in navigating the complexities of tax assessments and appeals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in gathering necessary information and documents for tax assessment procedures.
- Prepare and organize documentation required for responding to tax notices and queries from tax authorities.
- Support senior consultants in the preparation of replies to assessment orders and notices.
- Maintain a systematic record of all assessment-related communications and documents.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of appeal forms and related submissions to the Commissioner (Appeals) and other appellate authorities.
- Track the progress of assessment and appeal cases and follow up on pending matters.
- Communicate with clients to obtain required information and provide updates on their cases under supervision.
- Assist in researching relevant tax laws, rules, and case precedents related to assessments and appeals.
- Help in the preparation of case summaries and briefs for appeal hearings.
- Coordinate with the firm's administrative staff for the timely filing and submission of documents.
- Ensure compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements for assessments and appeals.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and case details.
- Stay updated on changes in tax assessment and appeal procedures and regulations.
- Provide general administrative support to the tax team as needed.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com).
- Basic understanding of Indian tax laws, including Income Tax and GST, is desirable.
