F&b Team Member

Job Responsibilities

Set tables, trays according to type of food ordered and the hotels service standards.

Performs opening and closing procedures established for the department.

Accurately records, pre-checks and picks-up all food and beverage orders.

Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.

Responsible for cleaning and removing the trolleys/trays from guest rooms and corridor.

Serves guests their food and beverage in prompt, courteous manner as per the standard sequence of service.

Present physical and accurate check to guest and complete the payment process.

To be able to immediately monitor guest comments and pass on to your Superior, and be pro
- active in solving problems whenever possible.

To have a full knowledge of the food & beverage items & their specifications, menu prices, recipes and style of service etc.

To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and also up sell alternatives.

Check with the guest regarding the satisfaction of the meal.

Report guest complaints immediately to the supervisors and ensuring follow up is performed with the guest.

Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.

Maintain cleanliness of work areas, chinaware, glassware, etc., throughout the day.

Report cleanliness and maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor.

Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.

Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.

Ensure proper appearance and grooming while on duty.

Ensure to have minimum wastage and breakage.

Ensure communication between Kitchen, Order taker and service team members.

Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully.

Being knowledgeable to operate the hotels point of sales ( POS ) system, other order taking systems or hand held devices, inventory software etc.

To ensure a very good relationship between the Operations floor, the Kitchen & Front of the House.

Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.

Perform any other assigned reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned or as requested by Supervisors.

Should have excellent communication skills.

Speak with others using clear and professional language.

Flexibility to work for longer hours as per business demand.

Be courteous, professional and provide efficient service.

Job Requirements
- We are looking for a hard-working Steward to be responsible for ensuring all sanitation standards are met. The Steward will attend to customer needs, assist wait staff, ensure all stations are well stocked, and assist in keeping all areas clean and sanitary. You will clean and put away dishes, clean floors and food preparation areas, refill supplies, wipe tables, and take out the trash.
- To be successful as a Steward, you should be committed to working hard, and have the physical stamina to be on your feet and moving for the duration of your shifts. You should be friendly and helpful to customers and have strong team working skills.
- Cleaning and setting tables and placing seasonal decorations, candles, and table cloths.
- Welcoming customers, seating them, serving them water or refilling their glasses, and delivering beverages from the bartender.
- Keeping menus clean and presenting them to customers.
- Stocking wait staff serving stations with napkins, utensils, trays, and condiments, and assisting the wait staff with all aspects of service.
- Clearing tables and preparing them for the next customers.
- Assisting in cleaning and opening or closing tasks.
- Scraping food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, plates, flatware, and glasses, washing dirty dishes, and putting them away.
- Assisting with sweeping, mopping, and polishing the restaurant, bar, kitchen, and equipment.
- Transporting used linen to or from the laundry or housekeeping section.
- Assisting with unloading and storing stock.
- Steward Requirements:

- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet the age limit for serving alcoholic beverages.
- A friendly, polite, and courteous nature.
- Strong customer service and team working skills.
- Physical stamina to work long hours on your feet.
- The flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
