We are seeking an Investment Professional (Associate) to join our India investment team, primarily focused on our investments across Education, Emerging Technology and Financial Inclusion. Our existing portfolio includes segment leaders like Daily Hunt, Vedantu, Zest Money, M2P, Pratilipi, DoubtNut, Dream a Dream and exciting new companies like Otipy, Masai, Farmart, Kutuki, CredFlow.

Responsibilities will include the following:
**_Building a portfolio of investments (for-profit and non-profit) _**
- Identifying key trends in the space that could help advance our quality of work across sectors Scoping out new high potential opportunities
- Reviewing and analyzing business plans, prioritizing opportunities, conducting necessary diligence Supporting deal execution by taking shortlisted opportunities through a well-defined approval and closing process, including definitive documentation, legal and financial due diligence (as applicable)

**_Portfolio Management _**
- Regularly monitoring the performance of the portfolio (for-profit and non-profit)
- Working closely with investees (for-profit and non-profit) on strategic aspects to help them scale successfully, achieve their financial targets and impact potential
- Provide analytic and strategic support to portfolio companies as needed
- Market scanning on potential competitors, acquisitions & partnerships
- Participate in follow-on financing discussions, build investment materials Assist in building exit pathways

**_Engaging with a broader external audience _**
- Building relationships with other investors, start-up founders / executives and other eco-system players to identify potential areas of collaboration Publish thesis for investments across sectors

**_General _**
- Collaborate internally to advance ONI strategy and mission
- Represent ONI in a manner that is consistent with our mission Perform other responsibilities, as necessary

**Education, Experience and Skills requirements**:

- Deep passion to make a difference for the Next Half Billion segment; good understanding of challenges in the space, and familiarity with key technology-led interventions that are making a positive impact
- 3-5 years business experience with preference for prior experience in entrepreneurship, investing, management consulting or operational role in start-ups
- Deep strategic and analytical skills - ability to evaluate proposed opportunities from multiple perspectives (strategic fit, expected impact, market opportunity, operational capability, business model, financial performance, valuation, etc.); appreciation of analytical rigor and clarity
- Good communication skills - excellent writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate succinctly
- Good interpersonal skills - ability to work collaboratively with colleagues around the world
- Sound knowledge of investment execution (sourcing, analyzing, teeing up for decision-making, negotiating, documenting, closing, etc.)
