**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Health and Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Implement and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Maintain and update safety records and documentation.
- **Risk Assessment and Hazard Control**:

- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Implement corrective actions to mitigate safety risks.
- Monitor and inspect equipment, work areas, and processes for safety compliance.
- **Incident Investigation**:

- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes.
- Prepare reports and suggest preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety violations.
- **Safety Training and Awareness**:

- Conduct safety inductions and ongoing training sessions for employees.
- Promote a safety-first culture by raising awareness of best practices.
- Ensure that employees have the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- **Emergency Preparedness**:

- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct regular emergency drills (fire, evacuation, etc.).
- Ensure that first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment are properly maintained.
- **Inspections and Audits**:

- Perform regular safety inspections and audits of the workplace.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations.
- Address non-compliance issues and recommend improvements.
- **Reporting and Documentation**:

- Prepare and submit safety reports to management.
- Maintain safety records, including training records, inspection logs, and accident reports.
- Assist in obtaining and maintaining necessary certifications or safety approvals.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- **Experience**: 2-3 years of experience in a safety officer role, preferably in [insert industry].
- **Certifications**: OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety certifications preferred.
- **Technical Skills**: Familiarity with safety management systems, hazard identification, risk assessment techniques, and safety audit procedures.
- **Knowledge**: In-depth understanding of safety regulations, accident prevention methods, and emergency response planning.
