**The Role**:
**The Responsibilities**:

- Provide Level 2/3 technical support for end users, both onsite and remotely.
- Manage and administer Active Directory, including user account creation, password resets, group policies, and permissions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktop environments (Windows 10/11).
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including layer 2 and layer 3 switches (VLANs, STP, trunking, etc.) and ensure optimal network performance.
- Install, configure, and manage firewall appliances and Unified Threat Management (UTM) systems, including setting up firewall rules, NAT policies, VPN configurations, and web/content filtering.
- Conduct regular firewall and UTM performance tuning, monitoring traffic patterns, and implementing security measures to prevent unauthorized access.
- Configure and manage site-to-site and client VPNs to ensure secure remote connectivity for end users.
- Support VPN configuration and troubleshooting for remote users.
- Ensure high availability and load balancing of critical network services.
- Maintain firewall configurations, ensuring secure access, threat protection, and policy adherence.
- Perform network security audits and recommend improvements to enhance infrastructure security.
- Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware for end-user devices.
- Manage and troubleshoot network printers, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Monitor and respond to incidents and service requests via a ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure systems are up-to-date with security patches and updates.
- Work closely with other IT teams (server, security, network) to resolve complex issues and improve infrastructure performance.
- Assist in IT projects and deployments, including system upgrades and network expansions

**The Desired Attributes**:

- 5+ years of experience in Desktop Support or IT Support roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in any stream or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience with switching technologies (VLANs, trunking, spanning-tree, etc.).
- Experience with firewall/UTM systems such as Cisco ASA, Fortinet, SonicWall, or WatchGuard, including rule configuration, VPN setup, and advanced threat protection.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Proficient in network troubleshooting using tools like Wireshark and ping/tracert.
- Experience with network security protocols (e.g., IPsec, SSL, TLS) and monitoring firewall logs for potential threats.
- Familiarity with Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of networking protocols and hardware, including switches, routers, and access points.
- Experience using a ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or CCNA are preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
