Accounts Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update financial records, including invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Invoice Processing: Verify and process supplier invoices, ensuring proper coding, authorization, and timely payments. Resolve any invoice discrepancies or issues with suppliers.
Accounts Receivable/Payable: Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including issuing invoices, reconciling statements, and following up on outstanding payments or overdue accounts.
General Ledger Maintenance: Support the maintenance of the general ledger by recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing balance sheet schedules.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. Collaborate with the finance team to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes, including gathering data, analyzing trends, and preparing financial projections. Support the monitoring of actual performance against budgeted targets.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards. Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide support in evaluating the financial impact of business decisions.
Administration: Assist with administrative tasks related to finance and accounting, such as filing, data entry, and maintaining financial records and documentation.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and production, to gather and share relevant financial information. Support cross-functional initiatives and projects as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience working in an accounting or finance role, preferably within the paint industry or a related manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial data management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
- Familiarity with paint industry-specific financial processes and terminology is a plus.
