Job Description: Purchase Manager in Steel Industry

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and cost efficiency goals.

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting thorough market research and supplier assessments.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

Monitor and forecast supply market trends to anticipate potential fluctuations in pricing or availability of materials.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality control, and logistics to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

Manage vendor relationships and conduct performance evaluations to ensure compliance with quality and delivery requirements.

Develop and maintain a supplier database, keeping accurate records of supplier information, contracts, and performance history.

Implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory.

Oversee the procurement process, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier communications.

Maintain awareness of industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance in procurement activities.

Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain optimization.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

Proven experience (4+ years) in procurement, preferably in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry.

Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successfully managing vendor relationships.

In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and market trends.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

Proficiency in using procurement software and tools for data analysis and reporting.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to procurement activities.

Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) are advantageous.
