C13 - Scrum Master

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specified projects ensuring consistency with Citi project management governance.
- Manages people managers, including responsibility for the alignment of Organizational objectives and individual development plans.
- Coaching the Development Team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
- Helping the Development Team to create high-value products.
- Removing impediments to the Development Team’s progress.
- Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed.
- Coaching the Development Team in organizational environments in which Scrum is not yet adopted or understood.
- Ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team as well as possible.
- Finding techniques for effective Product Backlog management.
- Helping the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items.
- Understanding product planning in an empirical environment.
- Ensuring the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value.
- Understanding and practicing agility.
- Leading and coaching the organization in its Scrum adoption;
- Planning Scrum implementations within the organization;
- Helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact Scrum and empirical product development;
- Causing change that increases the productivity of the Scrum Team; and,
- Project manages relatively small projects whilst overseeing the total project list and in particular the key critical projects
- Resolves complex problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes.
- Full ownership for one or more processes, reports, procedures or products, and may also be considered analytical or procedural experts representing a unit or team on cross-function process or project deliverables.
- May supervise day-to-day work of junior level employees, but will not typically have formal management role.
- Manages one team (consisting of support staff and/or entry-level analysts).
- Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area to resolve issues.
- Ensures creation of project plan and charter benefits management plan, stakeholder management plan, acceptance plan, and central project issue log.
- Ensures resources are assigned to project & monitor commitment.
- Ensures change control is executed throughout project.
- Identifies, documents, and understands project dependencies Identify key stakeholders who participate in project scope definition.
- Tracks actual project costs, identify variances, and reforecast project costs as needed.
- Measures project management performance against standards.
- Ensures appropriate project staffing levels.
- Establishes project communication needs and create project communication plan.
- Creates the project risk management plan.
- Partners with cross function peers to create, administer, track, and eventually close project contracts.

**Qualifications**:

- 12 - 18 years of experience in project management, primarily in financial services
- Experience in supervising project managers/business analysts/project officers
- Experience in interaction at Board/Executive management level of businesses
- Broad understanding of business practices
- Demonstrates capacity to work in highly pressured & volatile environments.
- Scrum Master Certification
- Microsoft Visio (Advanced)

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

**Knowledge/ Experience**:

- Extensive years managing software development projects/programs in a matrix environment, preferably within the Financial Services industry or comparable large company/consulting organization
- Proficient with both Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Ability to coordinate and manage across various business segments and technology disciplines
- Proficiency with IT tools supporting delivery, example JIRA, Confluence etc
- Scrum Master certification required
- Senior level experience in an IT project leadership role. Subject matter expert in at least one area of IT project leadership
- Significant experience in dealing with multiple senior stakeholders to deliver on time and with quality
- Excellent technical program and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and technologies
- Proven influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to deal with internal and external clients
- Ability to manage multiple activities with multiple priorities
- Ability to identify the critical success factors and risks
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams
- Strong in technology concepts and technology best practices
