Minimum qualifications:

- Master’s degree in Accountancy, Law, Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience building and leading compliance/risk management programs.
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

- Ability to maintain flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of matters from the complex matters to the routine standard matters.
- Well organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- Ability to work independently without a lot of administrative support.
- Excellent analytical, advisory, agreement drafting skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional leadership skills.

**About the job**:
The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.

**Responsibilities**:

- Liaise with statutory and regulatory authorities in India in responding to inquiries relating to Google’s products and operations in India.
- Engage with the policy makers and regulators in development of regulatory/compliance framework relevant to the internet sector.
- Advise senior management and cross-functional teams with regard to potential legal risks in India. Ensure compliance with applicable laws across Google’s operations in India.
- Work collaboratively with various internal teams on matters concerning compliance with local laws and regulations. Guide internal teams in development of policies and laying down of processes.
