We were awoken with crisis calls every second day for the minutest of issues — from troubleshooting why a number on a dashboard was incorrect to difficulties in getting access to the right data set Atlan started with us building tools to make our own data team more agile. **These tools made our team 6x more agile**, helping us take on amazing projects like building India's National Data Platform used by India's Prime Minister. The best part — this was built by an eight-member team, the fastest project of its kind to go live, in a record twelve months instead of the projected three years. **We asked, could the tooling we built for ourselves help data teams around the world? That's how Atlan was born. Come build the future for data teams with Atlan **Why this role is important for us?**: - You will act as primary legal support to business units and functions for sales and marketing, and operations. - Provide first-line support for all India-US-Singapore extra-territorial regulatory compliance. - Provide institutional knowledge, support, and fiduciary oversight concerning corporate and local governance standards, policies, processes, and reporting requirements. Manages local external legal counsel and associated budgets. **You will help us...**: - Managing the development of legal strategies for senior management. - Develop and recommends innovative process improvements to effectively address the business needs of an aligned country or region. - Work closely with the leadership team in leading and improving processes for the functioning of the legal department. - Analyzing and identifying the legal risks and implications of all of the business's transactions, keeping the management and business informed of developments in laws and regulations that potentially affect the business. - Drafting and reviewing NDA, MSA, SaaS, EULA, SOW, etc. with customer/vendor/other parties. - Driving conversations (over call, mail, etc.) with stakeholders (internal/external) in US/Europe and India. - Negotiating/enabling stakeholders to negotiate and bringing NDA/MSA/SOW to closure. - Governing compliance to the requirement of agreements. - Researching on issues as required. **What makes you a great match?**: - Advanced university degree in law (e.g. JD or LLB). - Meets local legal license requirements. - Typically 7+ years of commercial legal experience at a law firm or in-house. - Significant experience managing multiple, complex, strategic, issues, and transactions. - Mastery of legal and relevant business knowledge in multiple practice areas in a country/region. - Broad and deep knowledge of local/regional laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. - Developed awareness of how to operate successfully in m
