**Senior Technician - Agricultural Equipment**
**Responsibilities**:
- **Diagnostics and Repair**:
- Perform advanced diagnostics on complex agricultural equipment, including tractors, combines, harvesters, sprayers, and other specialized machinery.
- Accurately identify and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic system failures.
- Conduct repairs and overhauls of engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other critical components.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to analyze data and pinpoint issues.
- **Maintenance and Servicing**:
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing according to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct inspections and pre-season/post-season checks.
- Ensure all equipment is operating at optimal performance and efficiency.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- **Technical Support and Training**:
- Provide expert technical support to customers and junior technicians.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on diagnostic procedures, repair techniques, and equipment operation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and service manuals.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in agricultural equipment technology.
- **Field Service and Customer Support**:
- Travel to customer sites to perform on-site repairs and maintenance.
- Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Provide excellent customer service and technical advice.
- **Inventory and Parts Management**:
- Assist in managing parts inventory and ordering necessary components.
- Ensure accurate tracking of parts usage and returns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- **Safety Compliance**:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a technician in the agricultural equipment domain.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Formal education or certifications in agricultural equipment technology or related fields are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of GPS and precision agriculture systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Experience with specific brands of agricultural equipment (e.g., John Deere, Case IH, New Holland).
- Certification in relevant technical areas.
- Strong computer skills.
- Experience with welding and fabrication.
**Education**:
- Diploma or degree in Agricultural Equipment Technology, Diesel Technology, or a related field.
