Job Title: Counsellor and Receptionist

Location: Birdfinn Aviation Academy

Reports To: Base Manager

Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Counselling Responsibilities:
Provide guidance to prospective and current students regarding aviation programs, career paths, and educational opportunities.

Assist students with understanding admission requirements, aviation course details, and career prospects in the aviation industry.

Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to address academic or personal concerns, and provide support for students in managing their studies.

Help students with setting realistic career goals, developing study plans, and preparing for industry certifications and exams.

Maintain confidential student records and provide ongoing follow-up on student progress and well-being.

Advise students on aviation industry trends, potential job opportunities, and professional development.

Conduct group information sessions or workshops to educate prospective students about aviation programs.

Receptionist Responsibilities:
Greet visitors, students, and staff in a professional and welcoming manner.

Manage scheduling for appointments, counseling sessions, and aviation-related workshops or events.

Maintain a tidy and organized reception area and ensure it provides a welcoming environment for visitors and students.

Assist with student admissions, including assisting with interviews, document collection, and enrollment procedures.

Assist with general office duties such as filing, data entry, and managing educational resources for students.

Coordinate and support academy events, open houses, or recruitment drives.

Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
An interest in aviation or previous experience in aviation-related fields will be considered an advantage.

Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to provide clear and accurate information to students and prospective clients.

Basic understanding of aviation career paths, courses, certifications, and industry standards is a plus.

Experience in a customer service or counseling role is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with scheduling tools or databases.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Professional demeanor with a focus on customer service and student satisfaction.

Work Environment:
Fast-paced academic environment within the aviation industry.

Ability to work effectively with students, faculty and other stakeholders in a supportive and collaborative manner.

Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for student events or open houses.
