Role Summary

To create, develop, coordinate and revise the CAD and BIM outputs for current Rail projects.
- To support the engineering discipline teams in the development and implementation 3D design practices throughout lead offices in alignment with the AU Rail BIM Strategy
- To co-ordinate all aspects of CAD data and associated information input and output on a project-by-project basis. It would be necessary to ensure that robust methods are incorporated into procedures such that the availability of data is maintained at all times and that accurate reporting and delivery schedules can be carried out.
- To facilitate efficient and collaborative interdisciplinary design reviews and final presentation of completed designs to our clients.
- To provide support to all disciplines by controlling and maintaining access to data generated on a project using various forms of collaborative software.
- To produce all CAD data in adherence to the relevant Client CAD Standards documentation
- To perform CADQA checks and reports on CAD files created by others.
- Observation of company Health & Safety, Environmental, Commercial and Project Management procedures, as relevant to the tasks being undertaken
- In all activities, to contribute to the development of WSP|PB’s technical capabilities in the field of railway infrastructure engineering.

Key Competencies / Skills:
Mandatory Skills
- Proficiency in the use of 3D design within MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3)
- Proficiency in the use of ProjectWise V8i (SELECTseries 4)
- Experience of supervising and coordinating the CAD output of others (either directly or indirectly) within a multi-disciplinary project environment, an excellent understanding of industry-standard packages for CAD and Data Management Systems, and knowledge of the Rail engineering and design sector
- Ability to understand and communicate BIM and CAD standards for use on Rail projects.
- An experienced view and clear understanding of the structure and hierarchy of drawings and designs (levels, layers, line types, models, seed files, etc)
- Working knowledge of MS Office software packages
- Minimum of five years working within an engineering and design sector
- Good communication skills.

Desired Skills
- Working knowledge of Bentley Navigator (SELECTseries 3)
- Industry recognised CAD / BIM software certification
- Engineering qualification(s)
- Minimum of two years working on multi-disciplinary projects within the Rail engineering and design sector
- Member of CAD and / or BIM affiliated professional bodies.
- For existing WSP employees, certification as a CAD Associate or Senior CAD Associate
- Working knowledge of project planning software such as Microsoft Office Project and Primavera.
