**Responsibilities**:

- Thorough designing of EM components like starter motor, BLDC motors, alternators, magneto, wiper motor, relays, solenoids, horn etc
- Support vehicle programs through the entire life cycle including design, prototype builds, vehicle test and production.
- Component drawing release for development. Discussions with vendors for realisation of design.
- Vehicle level packaging and making designs suitable for DFA, DFS.
- 2D/ 3D finite element analysis of EM components.
- Root cause analysis for quality issues using QC tools and countermeasure action and horizontal deployment of learnings.
- Benchmarking and generation of ideas for better performance, quality, cost, weight.
- Keep track of global trends in relevant technology, regulations and develop long term road maps and appropriate work plan

- Define the overall activity schedule for all projects, monitor the same periodically and take appropriate action to ensure targeted deliveries.

**Technical/ Functional**
- Thorough in design knowledge in automotive electromagnetics components.
- Complete understanding of EM component child parts, its material selection.
- Complete knowledge required in vehicle electrical starting and charging system.
- Knowledge about DFMEA and DRBFM tools.
- Capability of analysing field issues.
- Knowledge required about automotive industry standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of UG NX.
- Knowledge in design tools like SPEED, FLUX, Maxwell etc will be added advantage.
- Ability to solve novel, difficult design problems with tight timing constraints.

- Practice of continuous improvement in all aspects.

**Specific Expertise**
- Design knowledge of magneto and starter motors.
