**Role description**: As a Linux System Engineer you will provide support for all on-prem and cloud Linux servers across North America, Europe and Asia. You will be part a global Infrastructure Technology team, working on large transformation projects as well as BAU support.

**Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required**:

- Full life cycle management of all Unix plus Storage systems
- Provide technical excellence and guidance in best practice
- Actively seeking opportunities to improve the processes, technologies and stability of the Unix estate.
- Performing routine system maintenance
- Auditing & implementing remediation actions to comply with IT Governance policies and procedures.
- Performing root cause problem investigations and implementing remediation.
- Use Jira to coordinate department activities and be able to develop dashboards and reports that measure success.
- Work to deliver new technology such that its adoption and configuration is standard between all regions and collaborate with development groups to enable the features meeting the needs of the company.
- Partaking in On-Call Rota (inc. Weekend Work).
- Use Ansible for configuration management and uniform deployment.
- Ability to create concise, clean, and clear technically documented re-usable code and understand the philosophy of coding (IaC).
- Coordinate with Instinet's security organization to ensure Instinet security through using best practices such as timely patching, least privilege access and active monitoring.

Key objectives critical to success in this role:

- Must have strong Linux administration skills.
- Experience of Ansible automation. Knowledge of Tower or AWX is a plus.
- Scripting experience with Python or Perl, Unix shell, SQL.
- Fundamental knowledge of using git. Experience with Gitlab pipelines is a plus.
- Elasticsearch and Prometheus monitoring.
- Knowledge of x86 server hardware, hands-on experience with Dell or HPE is a plus.
- Experience with SAN, NAS and Enterprise Backup technologies is a big plus.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, experience with Network Load Balancers (F5 or similar).
- Knowledge of Linux OS management tools such as Spacewalk, Forman, Red Hat Satellite,

**Salary**: ₹348,400.86 - ₹1,432,170.89 per year
