**THE ROLE**:
**Job Introduction**:
Delivering high impact long form journalism is a strategic objective for the World Service. In the past few years, BBC Eye has become a global brand for original, revelatory, and digital-savvy longform video journalism. The award-winning team has produced powerful stories from all over the world and has had significant impact.

**Main Responsibilities**:
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Producer with rich experience of longform video production. You will support our executive/series producers in the production and rollout of longform investigative stories.

You'll work closely with the production team to ensure every aspect of production is carefully planned so that filming and editing schedules ensure maximum productivity and programmes come in on budget. You'll lead and motivate researchers, ensuring they have clear and realistic objectives, giving clear briefings on research, story development, Infosec protocols, high-risk mitigation, post-production and impact. You'll collaborate with digital teams across BBC Output and Content areas to craft and lead an impactful rollout for our longform stories.
- A strong track record of research and production of original journalism
- Can identify and select longform stories in a way which demonstrates strong journalistic skills and editorial judgement
- Has prior experience in scripting, narrative skills and running a production
- A journalistic track record in areas related to our core audiences in India/South Asia
- Fluency in Hindi (is very desirable. Fluency in another language eg Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Urdu would be an advantage
- Thorough understanding of the needs and profile of our target audiences across World Service and the ability to translate these into imaginative and compelling multi-platform content
