Role Description

Muktangan requires passionate teacher educators to sustain and grow its top pedagogical practices. What started in 2003 as a community education model within a network of 7 municipal schools in Mumbai, is now attempting to transform (through partnerships) other mainstream schools across Mumbai and other parts of the country. The teacher education team currently comprises of more than 80 practitioners, with at least 50% being members of the community who have grown as classroom teachers with the organization. Nationally recognized for its classroom innovations, Muktangan continues to offer all its employees a culture of empowerment and continuous learning. We proudly state that we have been instrumental in developing over 1000 educational practitioners in diverse areas. The Preservice Teacher Education role involves capacity building of members from the local community to become resourceful educational practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
- Creating a robust strategy on the courses and workshops to be conducted
- Negotiating with key stakeholders regarding the conduction of these courses e.g. university departments and potential organizations who may send participants
- Designing and timely implementing of student recruitment processes including the design of fliers, recruitment drive, interviewing processes and orienting the families
- Orientating and inducting new faculty to the active constructivist approach of all Muktangan training processes
- Ensuring meaningful visits and their review, to other organizations for both staff and trainees
- With the Leader Schools to plan for meaningful internship for the trainees and for their mentoring by experienced school staff
- Liaison with the Outreach Department for provision of staff and expertise to the outreach programmes
- Participatory performance appraisal of all training faculty on a biannual basis and the organization of appropriate capacity building exercises based on the outcomes
- Designing developmental assessment processes for the trainees
- Ensuring the participation and reading of papers by self and other appropriate members of the Department at significant advocacy forums
- Ensuring that the content of the courses are documented and updated on a regular basis and that the documents are kept in a secure, yet accessible, manner
- Identifying of staffing requirements and the allocation of workload, along with non-training responsibilities
- Along with the CO-CEOs, drawing up and communicating budgetary requirements for the academic year

Educational Qualifications:

- D.Ed. / B.Ed. with minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience
- Post Graduate M.Ed. / MA Education with minimum 1 year of classroom teaching experience at primary/middle school level

Required Competencies:

- Passionate about researching on educational pedagogy & designing capacity building sessions/modules
- Outstanding communications and inter-personal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Proven ability to develop content and interactive teaching-learning aids
- Effective facilitation skills
- Proficiency in using technology
- Proactivity and effective planning
- Openness to learning and a collaborative team player
- Working knowledge of Marathi/Hindi or both will be given preference
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external teams as well as lead projects
- Must be flexible working with a professional, demanding work schedule and environment
- Must be willing to travel both within and outside Mumbai

Remuneration:
Salary shall be at par with industry standards.

**Salary**: ₹40,000.00 - ₹42,000.00 per month
