DBA with experience on the following is highly preferred.
- ASE database administration for version 15.x and higher
- Experience in setting up Replication using SAP Replication Server
- IQ DBA experience will be an added advantage

**Sybase ASE Database Job Description**:

- Installation and configuring Sybase on Windows, Linux and UNIX.
- Maintaining multiple databases and servers in different environments like Dev, QA, and Production.
- Experience in using data transfer utility BCP, ISQL Options, DBISQL and DSEdit etc.
- Creating Devices, Databases, and database objects, creating logins, adding users, adding aliases to databases and grant and revoke permissions to users/groups on databases and objects.
- Database monitoring using MDA tables, sp_sysmon, QP Metrics, show plan commands.
- Experience using Semantic Partitions for very large tables.
- Backup database and transaction log at regular intervals, Restore database and/or log in case of damage or failure. Automation of backup jobs.
- Configuration, Installation and enabling different types of licenses using SysAM.
- Experience in Writing SQL Scripts, procedures using T-SQL.
- Upgrading and upsizing databases from earlier versions to the latest version.
- Handling different types of production support requests.
- Installation and configuring Sybase IQ on Windows and UNIX as Single and Multiplex configuration.
- Experience in loading data from flat files using LOAD TABLE syntax.
- Creating Devices (raw/ filesystem), Databases and database objects etc.
- Creating logins, adding users, grant & revoke permissions to users/groups on databases and objects.
- Tuning of complex reporting queries and stored procedures.
- Maintaining multiple environments, databases and servers.
- Backup databases at regular intervals. Automation of backup jobs.
- Troubleshoot Sybase ASE 15.0 / 12.5, Sybase IQ and Replication Server 15.0 /12.6 issues.
- Performance Tuning on Sybase ASE and Replication Server.
- Involved in upgrade/migration projects.
- Developing Unix K-Shell scripts and ASE admin stored procedures.
- Remote management of multiple Sybase ASE production, development and test servers.
- Analyzing sp_sysmon output and providing recommendations.
- Performing Health Checks and providing recommendations for better performance.
