**Reports To**: Chef de Partie

**Job Summary**:
The Commis 1 Chef is responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of various dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and presentation. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cooking and eager to learn and grow within a professional kitchen environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Food Preparation**:

- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and portioning.
- Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and instructions from senior chefs.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards.

2. **Kitchen Operations**:

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food.
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.

3. **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie regarding any issues or concerns.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

4. **Quality Control**:

- Ensure the quality and consistency of dishes before they reach the customers.
- Report any issues with food quality or kitchen equipment to the Sous Chef or Chef de Partie.

5. **Learning and Development**:

- Stay updated on industry trends and new cooking techniques.
- Take advantage of learning opportunities provided by senior chefs.
- Show initiative in seeking out additional responsibilities and tasks to support kitchen operations.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal culinary training or certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow in the culinary field.

**Working Conditions**:

- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Exposure to heat, steam, and kitchen equipment.


**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹20,000.00 per month

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Rotational shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Performance bonus
