Transcriber

Role Description

We are looking for an English-to-Indian Languages, Transcriber for our projects and review. The person should have a very strong command of English and this language and know Spiritual concepts (Added advantage)
- English and one additional language (Indian Languages)

**Responsibilities**:

- Transcribe audio and written materials from English to Indian Languages with high accuracy.
- Ensure the meaning and context of the original content is preserved in the transcription process.
- Review and edit transcriptions to guarantee error-free and fluent Indian Languages output.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand specific project requirements and deadlines.
- Conduct research as needed to ensure accurate terminology and culturally relevant expressions are used in the transcriptions.
- Maintain confidentiality of all content and adhere to privacy regulations and guidelines.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving transcription processes and workflows.
- Conducting translations of documents, texts, and audio recordings from English to Indian Languages, and vice versa, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and capturing the intended meaning
- Ensuring that translated materials adhere to cultural and linguistic nuances while considering the target audience and purpose of the document
- Read the given material and research industry-specific terminology
- Convert audio recordings from one language to one or more others
- Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone
- Prepare subtitles for videos and online presentations
- Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check the quality of translation
- Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy
- Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs
- Edit content to maintain its original format (e.g. font and structure)
- Network with field experts to stay current on new translation tools and practices
- Salary - (will depend upon interview)

**Qualifications**:

- Fluent language skills in source and target languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages
- Demonstrated experience in translation is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of cultural nuances
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field is preferred
- Experience with Translation Memory Software is preferred
- Strong time-management skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment

Requirements and skills
- Proficiency in both English and Indian Languages, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Previous experience in transcription or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Familiarity with transcription software and tools is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A degree in linguistics, translation, or a related field is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with translation software
- Time-management skills

**Job Type**: Freelance
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
