We are seeking skilled Tamil Transcribers to join our remote freelance team. The role involves listening to Tamil audio recordings, segmenting them correctly, and transcribing speech into accurate written Tamil text following detailed linguistic and formatting guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Listen carefully to Tamil audio recordings and create accurate segments (100–500 ms silence at start & end).
- Transcribe verbatim speech into Tamil script, following provided transcription rules.
- Handle multiple speakers correctly by separating speech segments.
- Accurately transcribe fillers, catchphrases, numbers, and special cases.
- Mark unclear or unrecognizable speech with (only when contextually required).
- Ensure final transcripts are error-free, properly formatted, and consistent.
Requirements
- Native / Fluent in Tamil with strong listening & comprehension skills.
- Excellent command of Tamil grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to distinguish and transcribe regional variations & accents.
- Previous transcription experience mandatory (ASR projects a plus).
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict linguistic guidelines.
- Basic knowledge of segmentation tools.
- Prior work with data annotation platforms.
- Reliable internet connection and access to a computer/laptop with headphones.
Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary, Freelance
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: ₹12, ₹18,000.00 per month
