Operation Theatre Technician

**JD FOR OT TECHNICIAN [ fresher and experience (2 -4 years)] scurbing idea should be there.**
- To be responsible that the theatre to which they are posted is in fit condition i.e. cleaned and sterilized, machine and pipelines checked.
- To make position of the patient on the table.
- To assist doctor in starting I V drip.
- To change the gas cylinder.
- To ensure that Anaesthesia trolley has all the instruments. Equipment’s, drugs, syringes etc.
- To guide N/A in transfer of patient from OT table to trolley and to recovery room.
- To wash instruments, endotracheal tube etc. thoroughly as per instruction.
- To take universal precaution while handling soiled anaesthesia instruments.
- Must ensure that things at their work place should be cleaned and disinfected, sterilization of equipment’s are done properly.
- All electrical points are functioning and are in good working conditions.
- Aesthetic machines/ workstation monitors, breathing circuits and accessories are in perfect working condition.
- Ensure sufficient number of medical gas cylinders Oxygen, Air Nitrous Oxide, Carbon Dioxide are readily available and checked for adequate pressure.
- Ensure pipelines for medical gases (02 and N20) and vacuum pipeline is attached and checked to be okay.
- Ensure emergence drugs tray/ cart is checked and kept ready for use. They should cross - check the expiry dates of drugs and replace as and when required. Resuscitative equipment should be kept ready.
- Check the patient intubation trolley prepared by the OT Assistant for all necessary items.
- Check the anaesthesia machine for presence of all anaesthesia drugs, stainless steel trays, forceps syringes, needles, labels. Intravenous cannula, three ways stop cocks, adhesive tapes, scissors, spirit, tincture banjoing etc
- Strong of adequate amounts of intravenous sets, blood transfusions sets etc
- Provide spinal/ epidural sets, local anaesthesia drugs along with stainless steel trays for administration of regional anaesthesia. They must supervise and guide in patient positioning for Regional Anaesthesia techniques.
- Expiry drug should be replaced to pharmacy before 3 months.
- Ensure help and provide guidance during positioning of the patient prior to the surgery, during surgery and even during transportation to the post
- Ensure proper functioning and positioning of OT light during surgery, checking of electro cautery machine and foot pads (Bipolar and unipolar leads, with proper earthing).
- Ensure OT / ICUis fully functional and operational, infant warmer should be checked for paediatric cases.
- Ensure that the OT list is pated inside the OT and patients are operated as per sequence. Each patient should come to the OT with proper documents, which should be crosschecked.
- Ensure that during surgery OTs are left unattended.
- Ensure that after surgical operation is over and the next patient is wheeled in the OT should be cleaned and tidied up. In case an infected case or an HIV case has been conducted; then the OT should be fumigated. Similarly, ICU bed should be cleaned and disinfected before the next patient is taken to it.
- Ensure appropriate record maintenance - drug utilization register to be filled. Entries should be legible, signed by the concerned aesthetic and all cutting / overwriting duly attested. Ensure patient details in ‘Aesthetic Record’ Registers of OT and in Aesthetic Record Performa.
- Carry out minor repairs of equipment’s and change of parts like bulb of a microscopy, OT light, change of oxygen flow sensor etc., whenever it is required.

**Salary**: ₹13,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
