**Reports To**: Accounts Manager/Finance Manager

**Job Summary**:
The Accounts Assistant provides support to the accounting department, performing essential clerical duties and assisting with financial record-keeping and reporting. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a basic understanding of accounting principles.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Financial Record Maintenance**:

- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation.
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial transactions.
- **Data Entry and Reconciliation**:

- Enter financial data into accounting systems with accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile bank statements and accounts, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved.
- **Invoicing and Payments**:

- Prepare, process, and track invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- **Expense Reporting**:

- Process expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Verify and reconcile expense claims and supporting documentation.
- **Assistance in Audits**:

- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- **General Administrative Support**:

- Provide administrative support to the accounting team, including filing, answering queries, and managing correspondence.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and presentations.
- **Tax and Compliance Support**:

- Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws.
- Support in the preparation of regulatory reporting and adherence to financial policies.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
