YOUR PROFILE:
- Preferred experience in Home Furnishing, installation and assembly, of all types of simple, large, or complex furniture.
- A practical hands-on approach to your tasks and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Ability to use a smartphone/App/Tab and prepare accurate documentation.
- Ability to understand basic Kitchen plan drawings and execute as per design.
- Good at quickly building rapport with people from different (cultural) backgrounds.
- Emotional resilience and ability to handle conflict (assertive and able to remain calm when confronted with angry and/or upset customers).
- Ability to work varied hours/days as needed and travel across the city to work at different locations as per customer’s requirement.
- Ability to work alone but also as a team player and effectively handle several tasks at the same time.
- Ability to review and understand assembly instructions, drawings and manuals and perform accordingly.
- Mental requirements - Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress.
- Ability to work with both imperial and metric measurements.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work with diverse team members.
- Able to work in a high paced retail environment.
- Ability to handle multiple customer enquiries.
- Lifting/Handling Requirements - Ability to occasionally move or handle merchandise throughout the location generally 10-20 Kgs. This may include bending, stretching, reaching, and lifting on a regular basis. Any manual lifting over 25 Kgs will require the assistance of other co-worker(s) and/or use of manual lifting equipment.
- Standing for most times of the work shift.
- Comfortable working on a ladder.
- Operation of equipment (i.e., computer, hand tools, power tools etc.)
- Freely walk & move across all areas of the location such as sales floor, stock area and different areas at the customer’s place as per the requirement.
- Wear PPE (personal protective equipment) wherever applicable; and to use hand tools/small power tools and related equipment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a part of the Store Services Experience Team, you use your experience and extensive knowledge of your installation and assembly skills to support, resolve and ensure installation of kitchen furniture and countertops are accomplished at the highest level.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT:
- The Kitchen Furniture Installer’s primary responsibility is to provide installation services of IKEA Kitchen furniture, accessories and appliances at the customer’s place or in the store. This has to be done by securing a high quality of installation skills as per the plan as finalized by the Kitchen/Home Planning Team through study instructions/manuals/invoices/plans, where appropriate, while utilising these craft skills in all areas of the store and/or at customer’s location. Also, by understanding the IKEA Concept, knowing the IKEA product range and providing simple, safe and cost-effective kitchen installation services of a high quality, while maintaining timelines of installation and meeting ‘First Time Right’.
- Contributing to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
- Based on the knowledge and understanding of basic kitchen installation you will follow the instructions and manuals as per the approved plan/design. Use this knowledge to Install the IKEA Kitchen in the best possible quality & present the IKEA product range.
- Gain required knowledge to build confidence and desire to resolve customer complaints and deal positively and quickly with any issues they raise. Helpful and friendly in your approach to customer’s, always aiming for a win-win situation and for repeat business.
- Actively listen to feedback from customers. Use knowledge of both the product and how the IKEA organization works, to offer solutions so that customers have a positive impression of IKEA products and services.
- Work with your colleagues to ensure that the store is always in shape as new, whenever there is a need to support service activities in the store. Being always conscious of the importance of safety while installing IKEA Kitchen in the store or at the customer’s place.
- Reflecting the IKEA Brand identity by creating customer satisfaction in all areas.
- Recording of information accurately in relevant systems so that this resulting analysis can be used to make improvements to the customer’s future shopping experience.
- Understand the IKEA Concept, global solutions, tools and working methods and ensuring to use the appropriate manuals from Inter IKEA Systems to help optimize the customer’s experience.
