**Job overview and responsibilities**

Coordinates the designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise standard databases based on business area requirements. Drives the identification, definition, and implementation of database backup/recovery and security strategies. Install and support DBMS (Database Management Systems) software and tools. Responsible for various database activities which include monitoring, tuning, capacity, troubleshooting, and consulting.
- Translate a logical data model or user specifications into a physical design
- Ensure detailed physical design of data structures and database compiles with enterprise standards, guidelines, procedures, and processes
- Create physical database structures based on physical design for development, test, and production environments
- Coordinate with systems engineers to configure servers for DBMS product installation and database creation
- Provide on-site, and on-call 7x24x365 support, as needed
- Implement monitoring procedures to maximize availability and performance of the database, while meeting defined SLA's
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database problems
- Keep abreast of industry and technology trends

Expertise in any one of the following technologies:

- Oracle Database Administrators: RAC, Data Guard, Backup and Recovery, Performance Tuning, Exadata.
Operating System - Unix, Linux
- SQL Server Database Administrators: SQL 2022/2019
- NoSQL Database Administrators: CouchBase, Mongo, Kafka, ELK
- Operating System - Unix, Linux
- AWS Cloud Administrators: MySQL / PostgreSQL (RDS), DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Neptune etc.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**
- BS/BA, preferably in Information Technology or Business or equivalent experience, education, or training
Communication Skills
- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level

- 4+ years equivalent in depth experience in the design, administration, implementation, and support of a database
- Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
